The Inner Compass
Stand still. The trees ahead and bushes beside you
Are not lost. Wherever you are is called Here,
And you must treat it as a powerful stranger,
Must ask permission to know it and be known.
The forest breathes. Listen. It answers,
I have made this place around you.
If you leave it, you may come back again, saying Here.
No two trees are the same to Raven.
No two branches are the same to Wren.
If what a tree or a bush does is lost on you,
You are surely lost. Stand still. The forest knows
Where you are. You must let it find you.

Brian and Sian in discussion about
‘The Inner Compass’
Why ‘The Inner Compass’?
We are moving in unchartered territory. When navigating the unknown we are called to use our senses, follow our instinct and listen with our intuitive heart. This is how we orientate. In this way we listen deeply, paying attention to what is here and emerging in the wilderness within and without so that we are able to rest into the path as it forms within us. This is how we find our way home to ourselves and the land we live on. This is our journey of becoming and returning.
Using the maps of the Expressive Movement and Dance Awake conscious dance practices to guide and support our expedition, we venture into ceremony to move with the mysteries and possibilities that await in the unknown and the unknowable.
