Family Constellations

Gently untangle the roots beneath your struggles.
Like trees, we’re shaped by the soil we grow in—by our family systems, inherited patterns, and unseen emotional currents. Family Constellations offers a way to explore these deep roots, release what no longer serves you, and grow with more freedom and strength.

This work is for you to:

  • Break repeating cycles in love, family, or health
  • Understand your place in the family system
  • Find grounded clarity and emotional release

What is family constellations?

Family Constellations is a therapeutic approach that explores the deep, often unconscious dynamics within a family system. Rooted in the idea that issues such as anxiety, depression, addiction, or recurring relationship struggles can be inherited through generations, Family Constellations aims to uncover hidden entanglements and unresolved traumas that may be affecting a person’s life. During a session, individuals choose representatives—either people or physical objects—to stand in for family members, and through their spatial arrangement and movement, patterns and emotional truths often emerge that were previously unseen.

This method can benefit a wide range of people, especially those who feel stuck in recurring life patterns or emotional pain that traditional talk therapy hasn’t resolved. It’s particularly helpful for individuals dealing with family conflict, loss, adoption issues, or feelings of disconnection. By bringing to light the unseen loyalties and inherited burdens that influence behaviour, Family Constellations can offer profound insight, healing, and a renewed sense of personal freedom.

Sian trained in Family Constellations with Tanja Meyburgh in 2015. Together with offering focused constellations sessions, Sian integrates this method and systems approach into her psychotherapy practice and group workshops.
